The main reasons why I personally don't like to let the birds out this time
of year,
1/ our first NTU fly is not until early April ,so lots of time from mid
January to early February to have the birds right on form for then
2/ there is more chance of spoiling them or losing them in bad weather
especially if we get unexpected snow whilst the birds are out,
3/ if you live in prone peregrine areas the chances are come the first fly
you will have none left to fly in the nationals
4/ all of the young birds were dark trained prior to the old bird season so
no need to start them off extra early to get them used to the dark .
5/ apart from anything else it's a busy time of year for myself with work
and family commitments
